The appropriate time of the year to trim and prune a Pin Oak tree is in the winter from November through March. Any other time of the year will allow for disease and possible death of your tree.
We never suggest topping a tree. Not only is it not aesthetically appealing, but also it opens the tree to trauma and disease right where it will kill the fastest. Not to say that we haven't topped a tree for an insistent customer, but we will do everything possible to talk you into a healthier, natural way of trimming it.
